“It’s the most wonderful time of the year “ – can you hear the song, does it make your heart light and your spirit soar? Are you thinking of your family and friends, of get-togethers, good food and the blessings of the season? The Christmas tunes are already playing on the radio and stores are gearing up with special gifts for all. Maybe you are writing your list and checking it twice, choosing that perfect Christmas tree, digging out your favorite ornaments and running Christmas lights outside, making travel plans, mailing off packages, or planning that special family meal for Christmas Eve/Christmas day. Meanwhile, for the poor, Christmas can be a time of great stress and often disappointment. Moms worry about how they can eek out something extra from their meager resources so their children might have a gift or two to open on Christmas morning. Their requests are simple – primarily warm clothes and a toy, or gift cards for the moms so they themselves can choose things for their families. Please help this Christmas and share some of the blessings that you enjoy with others less fortunate. Contact the Housing Office at (518)459-0183 if you are interesting in sponsoring a family or making a donation. Gifts will be distributed the week of December 12th.
